Emily and her husband Sebastian, a survivor of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma

on Feb 10, 2016

Running the Disney World Half Marathon with my husband Sebastian was beyond incredible.  He is in remission from Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, and we feel very lucky to be able to take part in such athletic pursuits, together, representing Team in Training.  What an opportunity.  The truth is we would be raising these funds annually anyway, as it is part of our emotional and mental battle against the diagnosis he received 9 years ago.  So to raise the money, and then celebrate that feat with an event like The Walt Disney World Half Marathon was almost too good to be true!  The run itself was perfect, as all things Disney seem to be.  Donald Duck quacked “On Your Marks, Get Set, Go!”, characters and Disney displays cheered us on at each mile marker, and fireworks celebrated the finish.  The race was the motivator to get us to Orlando, and once there we took full advantage - treating our three kids to a week of theme parks and sunshine.  This was a holiday neither they, nor their parents, will ever forget.  Thank you Team in Training!
