A Letter from Chris Fenton

by on May 26, 2013

My name is Chris Fenton and I have the great honour of serving as Vice President, Team In Training for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Just over twelve years ago, I thought I was going to lose my mother to cancer; non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Today my mother is 80 yrs old and is living life ‘cancer-free’.  My mother benefitted from the most up to date treatment and a caring medical community. I firmly believe that my mother is alive today as a result of research that was funded earlier.

Since my mother’s diagnosis, I have personally raised over $120,000 in support of the LLS and it’s Mission. I have committed my time and energy to ‘paying it forward’. After 25 years of TNT, 570,000 participants and $1.3 billion raised, we're closer than ever.

I have committed to run the Berlin Marathon with Team In Training this year to continue my efforts to raise money to fund; research, patient services and advocacy programs. I am excited to connect with Canadian participants to better understand how we can drive more positive outcomes throughout North America.

Join me in Berlin so that mothers like mine can continue to live long, happy lives.  Take the first step in making a difference and register today!
