The mission at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) is to: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

LLSC is extremely proud of the important work our staff and volunteers do to support thousands of patients and their families who are facing the diagnosis of a blood cancer, to help them survive and, hopefully, be cured.

The funds invested provide:

  • Life-saving blood cancer research to accelerate treatments, therapies and cures

  • Free educational materials and events for patients and their families

  • Local programs such as Family Support Groups and the First Connection Peer-to-Peer Support Program

  • Comprehensive, personalized assistance through our Information Resource Center (IRC)

  • Educational information sessions for healthcare professionals and non-patient group

  • There are currently an estimated 138,000 Canadians living with or in remission from a blood cancer.

  • Each year, approximately 22,300 Canadians of all ages are diagnosed with a form of blood cancer.

  • Every 23 minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer in Canada, accounting for 11% of estimated new cancer cases in Canada.

  • Blood cancers are the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canada.

Someday is today

The LLSC is changing the landscape of cancer with more than 30 active research projects that explore different avenues of new and adventurous research; ones with promise and ones that will save lives not someday, but today.
