Why you ask? Simply said; we are here for our Honoured Heroes, for all of those individuals who are still fighting and for those who have conquered blood cancer, we are here for them.

Honoured Heroes are dedicated individuals, patients or survivors of blood cancer, who provide inspiration to Team In Training participants, volunteers and staff. Honoured Heroes share their strength, courage and motivation and provide much needed encouragement. In return they are welcomed into a community of individuals fighting for a cure, providing hope to those affected by blood cancer.

Honoured Patient

Ryan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on December 31st, 2011 when he was just 4 years old. He had been sick quite often, but nobody knew just how sick he was. Although there were many visits to doctors, it wasn't until late December that a blood test was done. We knew almost immediately that Ryan had some type of cancer. He was sent to the IWK by ambulance right away and his whole life changed.

My name is Melissa MacIntosh and I am a survivor of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. I was diagnosed on March 31, 1993 when I was 3 ½ years old.
