Prairies Territories Honoured Heroes

In This Section:

Why you ask? Simply said; we are here for our Honoured Heroes, for all of those individuals who are still fighting and for those who have conquered blood cancer, we are here for them.

Honoured Heroes are dedicated individuals, patients or survivors of blood cancer, who provide inspiration to Team In Training participants, volunteers and staff. Honoured Heroes share their strength, courage and motivation and provide much needed encouragement. In return they are welcomed into a community of individuals fighting for a cure, providing hope to those affected by blood cancer.

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Looking at me now you would never know, over 15 years ago I had just finished the most challenging year of my life. In 1997 I was diagnosed with Stage III Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I completed 8 rounds of chemotherapy. At the time my prognosis was 50-50 but mine is a success story. I am happy to say my treatment was successful and I have not had any re-occurrences of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. In 2009 I was diagnosed with mucoepidermoid carcinoma (another form of cancer) which was treated with surgery. I am happy to say that today I am cancer free and healthy.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia survivor

I'm Matt, a Chronic Myeloid Leukemia survivor. I was diagnosed in 2006 and after 5 years in clinical trials with inhibitor pills, my Leukemia mutated and the toughest part of my journey began.
